Child Life in Alternative Settings
The Child Life Council recently published a book about Child Life in settings outside the hospital. This includes such circumstances as dentist offices, doctor offices and court systems. The book is titled Child Life Beyond the Hospital. The book is $55 if you are not a member of the Child Life Council and $48 if you are a member. I have not read the book personally, but I have heard many great things about it already! Child Life Specialists who work outside of the conventional hospital location wrote each of the chapters, so you get firsthand perspectives and advice. I’m anxious to get my hands on this publication because I’m extremely interested in learning about Child Life Specialists who work with children in a dentist setting. If you have read the book, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
